What is the opportunity?

What is the opportunity? Do you embrace new challenges? Are you passionate about supplier management and driving change initiatives within the third-party risk domain? If so, then we would love to hear from you. As a Supplier Risk Manager, you will be a member of the Supplier Management office and support RBC’s Wealth Management platform. In this role, you will execute supplier management activities, supporting the delivery of Third-Party Risk governance requirements, including stakeholder engagement with business partners and vendors, cross-regional supplier reviews and assessments, supplier spend analysis, business case development, supplier performance monitoring and reporting, and supporting change and acquisition integration initiatives within WM’s Supplier Management program.

Responsibilities
  • Support supplier governance and oversight activities throughout the third-party lifecycle by acting as a subject matter expert to ensure risks are fully assessed and documented in the supplier risk system.
  • Communicate and lead change management activities to support the rollout of enterprise policies, standards, processes, and tools.
  • Identify and drive efficiencies and improvements across the supplier base.
  • Provide practical advice with integrity and empathy, considering regulatory and business objectives; address business queries on supplier risk management activities and the third-party risk program.
  • Develop relationships across global Wealth Management and other RBC platforms, including procurement, supplier management offices, and governance centers.
  • Manage or support projects related to supplier risk management activities.
  • Partner with the 2nd Line of Defense to address regulatory and internal audit requests related to third-party supplier requirements (e.g., FRB, OSFI).
  • Prepare ad hoc and scheduled third-party risk reporting per guidelines.
What you need to succeed

Must Have

  • Business Administration degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in Supplier Risk/Risk Management and/or Operational Risk; familiarity with risk and governance practices, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Good understanding of RBC structure and services.
  • Project and/or change management experience.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to present information to various audiences.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with flexibility and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to influence at various levels, including senior management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel and PowerPoint).

Nice to Have

  • Risk Certification and/or PMP certification
  • Issue management and remediation experience
  • Prior experience in a Supplier Management Office or another Risk Management Department
  • Understanding of third-party risk management policy, standards, methodologies, best practices, and audit requirements
