What you can expect to do here:
- Work with the Discipline Lead in planning, design, and execution of structural projects for transportation and transit infrastructure (bridges, viaducts, stations, underground structures, etc.)
- Develop and implement project management plans covering scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and stakeholder engagement
- Coordinate structural design, including BIM modeling, ensuring compliance with MTO, METROLINX, AREMA and applicable building codes
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize costs & time without compromising safety or quality
- Manage contract negotiations, and subcontractor coordination from pre-bid through project closeout
- Supervise site activities: Construction, testing &commissioning, and ensure adherence to safety and project Specifications
- Mentor and train team members (engineers, coordinators, superintendents) and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Prepare and present progress reports, lead stakeholder meetings, and maintain effective communication with all parties
- Ensure regulatory compliance and strict application of safety protocols throughout all project phases
- Participate in the preparation of RFPs, RFQs, and subcontracts, including risk analysis and change management
- Develop and implement project change requests, as well as preparing and maintaining comprehensive project technical specifications
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- University degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in structural design and project management within the transportation and transit sector
- In-depth knowledge of MTO, METROLINX and AREMA codes & standards
- Proven experience in structural design and multidisciplinary project coordination
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project), BIM modeling, and design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Rivet3, Microstation, InRoads)
- Excellent communication, leadership, risk management, and cost control skills
- Experience in estimating, bid preparation, and contract administration
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
- Valid Professional Engineering license recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) is an asset
