Overview

Webflow is hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Optimization Product Platform. Remote-friendly (US; BC & ON, Canada). Webflow’s mission is to bring development superpowers to everyone through the Website Experience Platform (WXP) with AI-driven personalization, analytics, hosting, and more. We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help develop and scale Webflow Optimize products, our AI-powered website optimization and personalization engine. The team focuses on personalization, data visualization, and large-scale analytics and optimization products.

In this role, you’ll help build and scale product capabilities that provide metrics and insights about user behavior, optimization, and website analytics, and you’ll contribute to a high-quality, performant, and scalable Webflow experience.

  • The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. The base pay ranges are structured into geographic zones; specific base pay is determined by location, experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
  • United States (USD; zones):
    • Zone A: $175,800 - $247,700
    • Zone B: $164,500 - $232,200
    • Zone C: $154,200 - $217,600
  • Canada (CAD; ON & BC):
    • CAD 199,300 - CAD 281,100

As a Staff Software Engineer, Optimization Product Platform, you’ll…

  • Architect, design, and implement accessible user interfaces, scalable data architectures, and API endpoints that enhance Webflow’s optimization and analytics product experience.
  • Collaborate with designers, PMs, data scientists, and engineers to lead projects focused on Optimization product capabilities.
  • Leverage state-of-the-art AI tools to enhance impact.
  • Drive architectural solutions for your team and across Webflow engineering.
  • Provide consistent technical guidance and leadership that directly contributes to multiple teams and the engineering organization’s deliverables.
  • Contribute to building and executing functional strategy.
  • Produce and elevate maintainable, tested, performant, and scalable code.
  • Author, collaborate on, and evaluate design documents.
  • Influence technical designs and team-level prioritization and participate in technical solutions.
  • Motivate and empower teammates to reach higher performance.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers in an autonomous, supportive team environment.
  • Mentor junior engineers in technical skills and Webflow culture.
  • Participate in engineering citizenship activities such as co-authoring engineering blogs, improving hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams.

About you

  • Have 7+ years of experience shipping code for consumer-facing web products.
  • Are familiar with optimization platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO) and event tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel).
  • Have a strong understanding of web development best practices, including responsive design, web performance metrics, and accessibility standards.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Enjoy tackling large technical problems in a collaborative, distributed team.
  • Can debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
