A leading software company in Canada is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to direct the architecture of its CLM Core platform. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing backend component architecture, integrating AI tools to enhance software development, and driving technical innovation across teams. Ideal candidates will possess over 10 years of experience in software engineering, strong skills in Java and SQL, and a proven track record in leading complex systems. A commitment to team collaboration and mentoring is essential.
As the most trusted global leader in data-first contract lifecycle management (CLM) software, Agiloft helps organizations manage the end-to-end process of proposing, negotiating, signing, and leveraging contracts using our flexible Data-first Agreement Platform (DAP). With contract data as the foundation, customers quickly and collaboratively reach agreement and leverage contract visibility to thrive with competitive advantage. Employing powerful, pragmatic artificial intelligence as a legal force multiplier, and robust integration capabilities as a data liberator, organizations around the world trust Agiloft’s certified implementers to deliver connected, intelligent, and autonomous solutions across the entire contract lifecycle.

Our no code platform is easily managed and administered by business users, which is why Agiloft is the contract you keep: nearly a full 100% of new customers are satisfied with their initial implementations, and some 97% of customers renew every year. Ours is a growing, vibrant, successful company that is at the forefront of a market that is becoming a must-have for all organizations.
We believe that the way to build the strongest, most vibrant place to work is to bring in individuals from all walks of life, and to support them in bringing their authentic selves to their day, every day. Our working philosophy is that “EX = CX”: when employee experience is excellent, so is customer experience. We support multiple Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and offer a working environment that supports healthy work/life balance, including floating holidays and a quarterly, no-questions-asked wellness day.
We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to own and evolve the architecture of major backend components of Agiloft’s CLM Core platform with end-to-end accountability. This role operates at the platform and organizational level, with accountability for architectural outcomes, long-term system health, and engineering leverage across teams.
You will partner closely with the Engineering leadership, senior engineers, and product leaders to translate business strategy into durable architectural direction and executable technical plans. A core focus of this role is to lead the adoption and enablement of AI-driven software development capabilities, shaping how AI tools are used to accelerate extension development, improve maintainability, and reduce long-term operational and technical friction.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines deep technical expertise with broad influence. Your work will directly shape Agiloft’s technical roadmap, developer experience, and the future evolution of the platform.
Background checks will be conducted on an ongoing basis every 3 years or as needed for individuals in this role.
