JLL is currently seeking an individual to join our Value and Risk Advisory team in Toronto, at a Senior Consultant (or higher) level, to specialize in office as well as enclosed retail valuations. This high performance and dynamic team is looking to expand its capabilities, in coordination with overall growth plans within JLL Canada, and globally.

With local professionals in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, our Canadian team is a ‘Best-in-Class’ national valuation platform, servicing the needs of many of the nation’s largest Pension Funds, REITs, Asset Managers and major Institutions. At this time, the group focuses on valuation assignments of ‘Core 4’ real estate assets (Retail, Office, Industrial and Residential), with some localized specialization in ‘alternative’ assets as well as tax consulting.

We are currently seeking an individual for the role of Senior Consultant (or higher). This role would report directly to Warren Coffell, P.App., AACI | Senior Vice President – but with the opportunity to interact and work with professionals across the country. The successful candidate will have the experience and knowledge to contribute to all aspects of appraisal assignments, and the ability to interact with clients when needed. Applicants should be close to achieving, or have already achieved their accreditation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Preparing all aspects of a CUSPAP-conforming appraisal report
  • Conducting research and collecting data from both internal and external resources to aid in the valuation process
  • Working closely with senior team members to create, edit, and/or prepare market research, cash flow projections, and appraisal reports
  • Developing relationships both inside and outside JLL for the development of the business and to grow the service line
  • Continuously improving available skillset and market knowledge via participation in conferences, on-line learning, etc.
  • Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities that may be assigned
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Post-secondary education in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Urban Economics, Urban Planning, or Urban Geography is an asset
  • 3+ years full-time professional experience required in the commercial real estate sector; knowledge and experience within the office and/or retail sectors is an asset
  • Candidate appraiser license required; AACI designation is an asset
  • Real estate software, such as: ARGUS Enterprise, is an asset
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to: MS Windows; MS Office, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Adobe Standard
  • Knowledge of key themes impacting capital markets and investment real estate
