Job summary

A leading IT consulting firm is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a hybrid role based in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience, preferably in the Banking domain, with a strong background in payments technology. This role involves gathering and analyzing business requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring designs meet operational needs. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working in BSA capacity, preferably in Banking domain.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in payments technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a BSA or in a similar role, with a strong background in Agile principles and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Ability to manage project and business risks and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Position Description

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client office (Toronto) at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Future Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements using various techniques such as user stories, use cases, non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with other application technology teams and able to translate business requirement into technical specifications/ interface specification for development teams to implement.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives), fostering collaboration between stakeholders and the development team.
  • Refine the product backlog, ensuring user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
  • Analyze existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to the design of new solutions.
  • Ensure design leverages existing reusable components, traces back to business requirements, and that new modules are designed with reusability in mind.
  • Identify and address any issue that affects the integrity of the application (e.g. cross-capability/release issues).
  • Develops test plans and test case scenarios to guarantee the new system design meets business requirements
Required Qualifications
  • .10+ years of experience working in BSA capacity preferrable in Banking domain.
  • .5+ years of relevant experience in payments technology or a related field
  • .5+ years of experience as a BSA or in a similar role, with a strong background in Agile principles and practices
  • .Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and coaching skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Ability to manage project and business risks, including project interdependencies, and resolve issues effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and provide creative solutions
