The Sourcing Manager (Indirect) - Capital Equipment & Maintenance Category will be responsible for ensuring that the correct supply base is selected for each of the assigned commodities, while ensuring that cost reduction targets and supplier performance goals are met. The individual will be tasked with ensuring that the longer- term relationships are solidified through long term agreements or contracts as well as inventory agreements. The sourcing manager will undertake commodity and industry benchmarking projects to ensure that S&C remains at a competitive advantage in the marketplace and will ensure that the global Sourcing team is made aware of potential “best in class”.

The accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the performance of the assigned portfolio of indirect material and/or service suppliers to ensure that KPIs and internal customer requirements are met.
  • Manage the overall facets of supplier management activities for assigned categories, improve overall performance (quality, delivery, service, cost) and complete regular supplier performance assessments.
  • Develop medium to long-term category management strategies by developing comprehensive category profiles, market analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership.
  • Plan and conduct strategic and tactical negotiations related to supply and purchase agreements with a view to mutual benefits and success.
  • Assess new suppliers for business fit, financial stability and ensure that they will provide the best overall value to S&C.
  • Negotiate prices and make contract commitments with established and new suppliers.

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical discipline.
  • MBA or current certification by ISM (CSM/CPSM) or APICS CSCP is an asset.
  • Track record of conceiving and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives and ensuring their long-term success.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and participating in cross-functional global teams.
  • Experience with and understanding of manufacturing processes for industrial products and components.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including personal and group presentations.
  • Highly skilled in the use of business technology and communication tools.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to travel globally 35% of the time.

Physical Effort:

Normal or frequent minor physical effort is required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - WFH twice a week.
