Overview

The Infrastructure and Platform Services team (IPS) powers EA's live games and player experiences, delivering a deep portfolio of digital platform gaming services and production infrastructure. As a Software Developer on our Social Platform team, you will help to build our cross-game, cross-platform, and always-on Social Platform that supports social relationships and interactions for EA's network of games, handling several hundred-thousand requests per second and server-side systems. You will report to the Sr. Manager of Engineering. This is a hybrid remote / in-office role.

Responsibilities
  • You will create and work on large-scale distributed backend services, creating new features and updating existing ones.
  • You will resolve defects during QA testing, pre-production, production, and from the live environment.
  • You will design large portions of the software, from features to entire applications.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Java and Go programming
  • 3+ years of experience working on online services (preferably gRPC) at an internet consumer scale
  • Experience working with cloud technology and cloud provider services to build SaaS applications
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Delivery, and Agile development
  • Experience with source control systems (preferably using git)
Bonus
  • Experience working with Kubernetes
  • Experience building on Amazon Web Services
  • Experience using technologies such as Kafka, ElasticSearch, Redis, NATS, MongoDB, YugabyteDB, or other SQL or NoSQL DBMS in production systems
  • Experience using GenAI tools to boost productivity
  • Experience with load testing and performance analysis of distributed systems
Compensation and Benefits

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g., education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI / QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental / adoption leave), extended health / dental / vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
