Snowplow/Sand Truck Operator

Key Information:
  • Hours: Day shift 7:30AM - 4:00PM / Night shift 10:00PM - 6:30AM with overtime as required.
  • Must be willing to work weekends if necessary.
  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description:
  • Clearing snow and sanding at a congested Shell site.
  • Pile snow in designated and approved locations only.
  • Operate snowplow/sanding equipment in a safe, responsible and efficient manner following all recommended operating procedures.
  • Accurately document site service records for each and every site including times, services performed, weather conditions etc.
  • Document and report any obstacles at site(s).
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
Experience and Certification Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass an in-house driver’s assessment.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Safe Vehicle Operations tickets would be considered an asset.
  • 1-2 years’ experience operating snowplows/sanding equipment is required.
  • Must be clean shaven to work on site.
  • Ability to remain alert and maintain a high level of concentration.
  • Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety performance is a must.
  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license is required.
  • A clean driver’s abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
  • A reliable means of transportation is required.
  • Proficient English speaking skills is required.
Education:

Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
