Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. As an SRE, you will help ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems. You will work with development and operations teams to build and maintain robust infrastructure, automate processes, and improve overall system health.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid model.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do
  • Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of our systems and services.
  • Develop and implement automation tools to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and reliable infrastructure.
  • Continuously improve system reliability through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency.
Your Moneris Career - What you bring
  • 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or similar role.
  • Background in Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms particularly Azure and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Dynatrace, CheckMK).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Familiarity with version control systems, particularly GitHub.
  • Experience with networking, security, and system administration.
  • Familiarity with database management and optimization (asset)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems (asset)
  • Knowledge of building and maintaining code in Java, JavaScript, and React (asset)
