Job summary

A staffing agency is seeking Sewing Machine Operators in Edmonton. You will operate various sewing machines, read blueprints, and verify fabric quality. Ideal candidates have experience with industrial sewing machines and strong communication skills in English. This full-time position offers a competitive wage between $18.00 and $19.00 per hour, with opportunities for growth in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating industrial sewing machines such as Singer, Union Special, Brother, Juki, and Consew is preferred.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English in order to communicate effectively.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate single, double, and multi-needle sewing machines to complete products as per customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Inspect own work in order to meet quality standards.
  • Monitor sewing machine operation as per maintenance program.
  • Verify fabrics, threads, and parts; move/handle materials as per work order.

Location: Edmonton, AB

Shift: Monday- Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
  • Operate single, double, and multi-needle sewing machines to complete products as per customer specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
  • Inspect own work in order to meet quality standards
  • Monitor sewing machine operation as per maintenance program
  • Verify fabrics, threads, and parts; move/handle materials as per work order
  • Other duties as assigned and/or directed by Operation leaders
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO QUALIFY:
  • Experience operating industrial sewing machines such as Singer, Union Special, Brother, Juki, and Consew is preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English in order to communicate effectively
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing /assembly environment would be an asset
  • Willing to learn new skills and grow with the company
