Job summary

A leading waste management company in Ajax, Ontario, is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst. The ideal candidate will assist in various tax-related tasks including preparation of returns and provision calculations. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and ideally a CPA designation. This role offers a competitive salary of $90,000 - $100,000 per year, along with additional benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience with large corporate or complex tax provision preferred.

About the Opportunity
  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly tax provision under US GAAP
  • Preparation of federal and provincial income tax returns
  • Calculating monthly tax installments
  • Preparation of foreign reporting information returns for foreign affiliates
  • Assist with the preparation of the Globe Income Return
  • Preparation and filing of commodity tax returns
  • Assist with CRA and Provincial Revenue Agency notices
  • Prepare working papers to address various CRA / Provincial tax audit inquiries
  • Keep informed of tax laws, regulations, and rulings pertaining to international, federal, provincial and local taxes
  • Analyze and prepare internal memos and reports on the tax effects of business transactions
About You
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA designation or Masters in Taxation is preferred
  • 2 - 4 years experience working in a tax department of a public accounting firm or large corporation
  • Experience with large corporate or complex tax provision preferred
  • Completion or enrollment in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course is an asset
  • Team player with strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office and TaxPrep tax software experience
Salary Range

$90,000 - $100,000 / year
