Senior Software Engineer, Builder Platform

We are looking for a skilled and quality-driven Senior Software Engineer to join our new Builder Platform team. This team is responsible for building the core infrastructure, APIs, and tooling that enables both external developers (our ecosystem) and internal product teams to build, integrate, and extend the OneVest platform.

You will be instrumental in developing robust, scalable, and highly documented systems that maximize developer efficiency and ensure platform stability. What you’ll do:

• Design and Implement: Architect, design, and build the core components of the Builder Platform, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs, webhooks, authentication services, and platform SDKs.
• Prioritize Developer Experience (DX): Treat documentation, consistency, testing, and ease-of-use as first-class product features. Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to deliver exceptional developer experiences for internal and external consumers.
• Own the Full Cycle: Take ownership of features from initial concept and design through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance in a modern, cloud-based environment.
• Ensure Stability: Develop high-performance, fault-tolerant services, focusing on security, latency, and scalability to handle growing platform traffic and developer usage.
• Collaborate: Work cross-functionally with other engineering teams to align on architectural standards, share best practices, and ensure seamless integration across the wider OneVest technology stack.
• Tooling & Automation: Contribute to the development of internal automation tools and pipelines that enhance team efficiency and improve deployment reliability.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in software development, preferably building scalable API-driven backend systems, B2B platforms, or shared services.
• Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in TypeScript and experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Platform Focus: Deep understanding of modern API design principles, service-oriented architectures (SOA), and experience working with technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and messaging queues.
• Quality First: Demonstrated commitment to rigorous engineering practices, including unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and robust observability (logging, metrics, tracing).
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues across distributed systems.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical designs clearly to peers and product stakeholders.
