Overview

Are you a passionate Service Designer looking to make a significant impact? Our Edmonton client is seeking a talented individual to join their Data Centre of Excellence on an initial 6-month contract. In this role, you will apply human-centered design principles to transform how data is accessed, utilized, and delivered. This is a unique opportunity to shape data-informed decision-making and contribute to projects that directly improve services for the public.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate co-design workshops to gather user requirements and insights.
  • Develop journey maps, service blueprints, and process maps to visualize user experiences.
  • Design and execute user research activities, including prototyping and usability testing.
  • Analyze user experiences across data products to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Integrate human-centered design methods into data product delivery and program reviews.
  • Collaborate with program teams to co-design new processes and policies that drive change.
  • Prepare strategic recommendations and roadmaps for data product and service enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a related field plus 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience applying human-centered design approaches (UX, service design, etc.).
  • 8+ years of experience working with complex digital or data products and architecture.
  • 6+ years of experience creating journey maps, service blueprints, and other user visualizations.
  • 6+ years of demonstrated experience facilitating and leading co-design workshops.
