POSITION OVERVIEW

Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a Senior Projects Expeditor to work at our Glenmore Office (Suite 240, 4000 Glenmore Court SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 5R8). The Senior Projects Expeditor must have a high level of fabrication aptitude relevant to Oil & Gas equipment processes and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. The candidate will report to the SCM Manager, working closely with the Projects Team.

With a focus on Integrated Projects & Fabrication, we will require the Senior Projects Expeditor to ensure deliverables are met for all required engineering documentation, onsite and offsite deliveries, as well as meeting progress milestones. The primary responsibility of the Senior Projects Expeditor will be to coordinate project materials (Majors), expedite deliveries, and track all relevant engineering and final documentation for Document Control. By ensuring the efficient flow of materials, accurate documentation, and timely communication with various stakeholders, the Senior Project Expeditor contributes significantly to Startec’s operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and the successful execution of projects. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving in a fast‑paced environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI)
PROCUREMENT & SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT (Weighting 40%)

Vendor Schedule Management

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Monitor vendor engineering, manufacturing, and documentation schedules to ensure alignment with project milestones
  • Diligently track and follow up on all outstanding purchase orders in adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Expedite all project equipment and materials in accordance with the approved expediting plan
  • Identify potential risks or bottlenecks in supplier schedules and elevate issues proactively to protect project timelines.

Documentation

  • Ensure deliverables are met for all required engineering documentation, release documentation, and manufacturing data books
  • Coordinate information relating to packing lists, shipping documentation, and documentation required for export purposes
  • Ensure all relevant release documentation is issued in coordination with Procurement and Warehouse teams
  • Ensure that reporting data related to expediting status is complete, accurate, and up to date.

Communication and Reporting

  • Provide frequent, detailed status updates and expediting reports to Project Managers and SCM leadership
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders via telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, and in‑person interaction.
PROJECT COORDINATION (Weighting 30%)

Inspection & Milestone Oversight

  • Coordinate with Quality Control to ensure scheduled inspections are completed in a timely manner
  • Monitor NCRs and ensure resolution progress to avoid schedule delays
  • Ensure onsite and offsite deliveries align with project schedules and milestone commitments.
  • Monitor vendor progress in coordination with the Category Specialist against contractual delivery milestones and elevate schedule risks that may impact overall project execution.

Logistics Handover & Stakeholder Interface

  • Interface with client and project team members regarding expediting issues and schedule impacts
  • Coordinate handover to Logistics to facilitate delivery in accordance with Incoterms specified in the purchase order.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent project‑based expediting experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project expediting, procurement coordination, or materials management within a fabrication, EPC, or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience expediting major equipment and fabricated components in a project‑driven environment
  • Strong understanding of project execution processes, critical path scheduling, and milestone tracking
  • Experience monitoring vendor engineering, manufacturing, and documentation schedules
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, export documentation requirements, and logistics coordination
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (NAV & D365 preferred), SharePoint, Wrench, and advanced Excel for tracking and reporting
  • Ability to analyze vendor schedules, identify risks, and elevate issues proactively to protect project timelines
  • Strong communication skills with experience interfacing with suppliers, project managers, QC teams, and clients
  • High degree of technical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication processes, pressure equipment, and major project materials
  • Lean Supply Chain or Continuous Improvement exposure considered an asset
