Job description
An overview of this role

Duo Agent Platform is a pillar in GitLab’s Agentic AI investment. Users will leverage agents to enable a wide range of use cases across the software development lifecycle. By leveraging context across GitLab, and data points from external integrations, Duo Agent Platform will enable developers, planners, and others to accelerate their software lifecycle productivity.

As the Senior Product Manager for this space, you will align stakeholders on an iteration path and vision to capture this market opportunity. You will define the most important capabilities to enable valuable outcomes for our end users and create interfaces that allow other teams to extend the core platform with additional use cases.

This is a high‑impact, high‑visibility role requiring significant stakeholder alignment, cross‑functional collaboration, and a strong product vision. A clear understanding of market trends and agentic capabilities is essential.

What You'll Do
  • Drive the strategic vision and product development for our Duo Agent Platform, defining breakthrough approaches to autonomous AI agent systems that prioritize user trust, transparency, and effective task delegation.
  • Design comprehensive evaluation frameworks that assess the performance, reliability, and ethical implications of AI agents across complex, multi‑step autonomous tasks.
  • Create sophisticated user experience strategies that balance agent autonomy with human oversight, implementing critical human‑in‑the‑loop mechanisms for high‑stakes decision‑making.
  • Develop continuous improvement systems that enable AI agents to learn and adapt, establishing robust feedback loops that enhance agent performance and reliability over time.
What You'll Bring
  • Deep expertise in agentic AI systems, with the ability to articulate nuanced differences between autonomous agents and traditional AI tools and their real‑world challenges.
  • Advanced critical thinking to assess AI applicability and understand that solutions are not universal, including evaluating complexity tradeoffs.
  • Proven ability to design transparent systems that provide clear insight into agent reasoning so users understand how and why autonomous decisions are made.
  • Exceptional skill in maintaining user agency, creating product experiences that preserve user control and decision‑making authority in highly autonomous environments.

Please note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. If you are excited about this role, please apply and allow our recruiters to assess your application.
