Job summary

A global defense technology company in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Mechanical Designer, Sr. Specialist to design complex opto-mechanical and electromechanical components. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and significant experience in mechanical systems engineering. Responsibilities include using advanced CAD tools for design, solving technical challenges, and participating in design reviews. This role demands strong communication skills and technical leadership in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for mechanical design and analysis of complex products.
  • Perform innovation and suggest ways to improve systems.
  • Carries out complex engineering assignments requiring specialized knowledge.
  • Contributes to departmental best practices and design approaches.
  • Work within defined objectives and goals under wide guidelines.
  • Participate in design reviews as presenter or reviewer.
