THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a Senior Operations Planning Engineer to work in our Operations Planning department with the Water/Fuel Gas team. This is a dynamic full-time, permanent position based in either Calgary or Grande Prairie, AB. Reporting to the Supervisor, Water and Fuel Gas Operations, this individual will contribute to long-term water strategies, technology trials, management of change projects, and the execution of water and fuel gas projects following applicable regulatory legislation, CSA standards, and accepted industry codes of practice. Additionally, the individual will have the proven ability to handle multiple projects within the company while collaborating across departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines including field operations, drilling, completions, development, etc.
  • Participate in industry groups (i.e. CAPP, Producer group meetings etc.) to represent ARC’s interests and keep up to date on industry trends
  • Travel to the field to ensure adherence to programs
  • Plan and execute delivery of water to frac using temporary and permanent infrastructure
  • Plan and execute fuel gas delivery for drilling and completions to reduce diesel consumption
  • Manage ARC’s water inventory for freshwater and produced water ponds
  • Ensure compliance with BCER, AER and Dam Safety Canada regulations
  • Develop water strategies to support ARC’s completion program including recycling projects, storage, licensing sources, etc.
  • Progress innovation with technology trials to improve water quality and delivery
  • Execute management of change projects (MOC’s) for fuel gas and water tie ins to permanent infrastructure
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with a minimum of 7 years of facility or operation engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with a producer company
  • Well-rounded and extensive knowledge of oil & gas production operations
  • Exceptional project management skills including scope development, execution, cost control, and safety
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant BCER, AER, Dam Safety Canada, and other applicable technical regulations and standards
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritize activities, and work in a team-based environment to achieve desired results
  • Excellent computer and analytical ability
  • Experience with Wellview, Google Earth Pro, PI Vision, SCADA, SAP Fiori, etc.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • As this role is considered risk sensitive, the successful candidate will be required to successfully complete drug and alcohol testing.
  • This role does require time on job sites in the field in Alberta and British Columbia confirming designs, accurate equipment layouts and design improvement work.
