SENIOR MILL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the Senior Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of the maintenance plan (mechanical and electrical) to reach company goals. The incumbent will have to lead the team and foster team spirit among crew members, motivating them to execute the maintenance plan responsibly and with a high level of quality to maximize asset reliability. Support, coach, train and create space for the team to be successful.
Key Responsibilities
Area 1:
Leading and coordinating Mill Mechanical and Electrical Supervisors.
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, mine and mill plans and production activities and collaborate closely with other shift supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel in preparing and coordinating mechanical services.
- Lead and empower employees in achieving world class mechanical services and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship and feedback.
- Create space for the team to be effective in delivering results.
- Foster and inclusive work environment.
- Provide clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and maintenance targets.
- Ensure that training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of Côté Gold.
- Ensure the required resources (people and equipment) is in place to achieve targets.
- Promote a high performance culture by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching.
- Offer new approaches, methods or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
- Administer and comply with system requirements in a manner consistent with policies, procedures and regulations.
- Perform worksite inspections and safe work observations; participate in and lead investigations.
Area 2:
Operational excellence.
- Seek opportunities to improve mechanical services.
- Be proactive and solution driven and implement operational improvements.
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
- Continually seek to improve your skills as a Supervisor, Mechanical.
- Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
- Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
- Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).
Area 3:
Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.
- Provides leadership and direction to the various maintenance personnel and stakeholders to ensure that the business and mill plan objectives are met.
- Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
- Mentor and train new team members.
- Participate and lend your expertise to the team.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
- Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
- Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves
minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- College diploma in industrial mechanic (millwright) or another related field.
- Certificate of Qualification in Ontario is preferred.
- Completed apprenticeship is required.
Work experience - Nature & Length
- 10 or more years of experience as a Millwright, Machinist, Welder, E&I Technician, Pipefitter or Mechanical Engineer.
- 5 or more years of leadership experience.
- Previous exposure to lean and multi-disciplinary team leadership is desirable, but not essential.

- Demonstrated ability to engage and empower multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proven communication skills, both verbal, written and non-verbal.
- Computer proficiency.
- Understand efficiency drivers in a mining and milling operation.
- Self-motivated individual who is driven to find solutions and strive for continuous improvement in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of mechanical physics.
- Lead by example in Health and Safety, in work ethic and in behaviors.
- Adhere to and promote the company's values.
