JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results‑driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Software Engineering. Reporting to the Director of Application Services, this position is responsible to lead one of the following technology products team: Nuclear, RG, Energy Market, Enterprise & Supply Chain, Corporate, Finance…ensuring the successful delivery, enhancement, and optimization of enterprise IT solutions. This role is responsible for overseeing product roadmaps, engaging with stakeholders, and driving technology solutions that support business objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Lead the IT product delivery function, focusing on enterprise technology solutions and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, IT stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to define and execute technology roadmaps aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Manage end‑to‑end product lifecycle, from strategy and design to implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure IT solutions meet regulatory, compliance, and security requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving system performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of technical resources to deliver high‑quality IT solutions.
  • Oversee vendor and partner relationships to ensure effective service delivery and system enhancements.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of IT products.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement within the team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or related fields, particularly if combined with technical experience.
  • 8–10 years overall experience with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing IT professionals.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and modern IT product management methodologies.
  • Experience managing complex IT projects and product delivery in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, IT, and business leaders to align technology with business needs.
