Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Operational and Technical Manager to join our Production Technology team. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for leading a team of technical professionals dedicated to supporting operations and production equipment. You will oversee failure analysis and repairs, ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of testing equipment, and actively contribute to improving operational performance, product quality, and the introduction of new products.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Team Management
  • Lead and motivate a team of engineers and technicians dedicated to supporting operations.
  • Implement and optimize standard manufacturing processes.
  • Oversee failure analysis in production and the repair of electronic boards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen) focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
Production Support
  • Provide technical support for testing equipment and systems: preventive and corrective maintenance, spare parts management.
  • Analyze incidents and failures, and recommend improvements to maintenance plans.
  • Coordinate engineering changes (ECN & BOM) while minimizing impacts on ongoing production.
  • Participate in design reviews and the introduction of new products and software, ensuring manufacturability, testability, and reliability.
  • Keep technical documentation up to date (test equipment, production processes, work instructions, maintenance plans).
Continuous Improvement & process optimization
  • Optimize testing times to achieve quality and reliability objectives.
  • Implement and monitor the department’s performance indicators.
  • Contribute to the industrialization of new products and their testing equipment, as well as to capacity expansion and the improvement of existing systems.
Failure Analysis and Repair
  • Manage the analysis of units returned by customers (RMA).
  • Resolve complex technical issues (commissioning of test benches, database management, customer returns, etc.).
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Operations Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical training.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years managing a technical team in a manufacturing environment (electronics is an asset).
  • Significant experience in deploying manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Expertise in managing engineering change orders (ECO) and introducing new products (NPI).
  • Knowledge of ERP and/or MES systems.
  • Experience in establishing and monitoring performance indicators.
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14001 standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑growing organization.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and outstanding written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of electronic board manufacturing techniques and IPC standards.
  • Knowledge of CE, UL, CSA, and other applicable standards.
