Responsibilities
  • Assist financial and business buyers and sellers in evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities through an understanding of offers, value drivers, and associated risks.
  • Lead the production of detailed analyses on quality of earnings, EBITDA sustainability, asset quality, working capital position, as well as risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare and review analyses, projections, and technical models.
  • Identify competitive issues and performance indicators, whether general or specific to the target market.
  • Draft and prepare high-quality documents, including engagement letters, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Manage planning and organization of engagements and financial parameters of projects (budgets, work-in-progress, billing, collections, and variance accounting).
  • Find innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure their needs are met and relationships strengthened.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control and apply expertise to anticipate, identify, and mitigate client business issues and key risks.
  • Network within the local business community; explore development opportunities, lead proposal preparation, and ensure delivery of competitive service offerings that meet client needs.
  • Provide mentorship to team members, motivate and coach them to grow and thrive through clear objectives, regular feedback, and annual performance evaluations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Skills and Experience
  • 5–6 years of experience in professional services
  • Experience in transaction advisory services delivering due diligence for mergers or acquisitions
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis and modeling
  • CPA designation
  • CBV or CFA designation, an asset
  • Master’s degree in a related field, an asset
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Business development experience
  • Proven leadership and strong people management and interpersonal skills
