Based in Brampton, Sudbury, North Bay, Thompson, St John, or Thunder Bay, you will be part of our mining team.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor electrical designer staff.
  • Design power, PLC automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Oversee development of design concepts and ensure proper application.
  • Verify work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, and drawings.
  • Mentor and encourage staff development.
  • Apply EXP’s risk management practices in electrical engineering.
  • Lead design teams to produce engineering/construction documents within schedule and budget.
  • Understand engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts for discipline engineering.
  • Encourage collaboration for optimal solutions.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Write studies and reports on electrical systems.
  • Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting requirements.
  • Perform front-end loading of electrical systems.
  • Contribute to revisions of EXP’s design standards.
  • Evaluate cost-saving and risk items through Value Engineering.
  • Develop basis of design narratives.
  • Design high, medium, and low voltage AC and DC systems.
  • Design protection and control systems.
  • Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, and classifications.
  • Participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP and PHA.

What Your Experience Looks Like

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the mining industry.
