Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate high-quality, developmentally appropriate programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children under the age of 5 years.
  • Ensure all programming aligns with the organization’s core values and adhere to childcare licensing regulations
  • Welcome and orient new children and families. Maintain positive, respectful, and open communication with families, engaging them in their child's growth and development
  • Develop and maintain individualized support plans, progress reports, and all required documentation to support children’s growth and development. When appropriate, identify and recommend referrals or additional support services, and collaborate closely with professionals to ensure a holistic and responsive approach to care.
  • Support children’s physical needs including toileting, eating, and sleeping while ensuring a safe, healthy environment. Administer first aid as needed
  • Lead by example, acting as a positive role model, mentor, and relationship builder with children, families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, training, support, and evaluation for volunteers, and practicum students.
  • Support program operations, including budget oversight, purchasing, tracking enrolment and membership space, and completing monthly program reports.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education Certificate with current license to practice
  • Two (2) years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Successful completion of agency screening process, including clear criminal record check

Hours:40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Rate of Pay:$23.61 per hour plus $6 hourly ECEWE with proof ECE license; cost shared benefits
