Job description

Lime is the largest global shared micromobility business, operating in close to 30 countries across five continents. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered more than one billion rides in cities around the world. Named a 2025 Time 100 Most Influential Company, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally, spurring a new generation of clean alternatives to car ownership.

Lime is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science & Analytics team! In this role, you will report to Lime’s leader of Analytics Engineering & BI and serve as the primary liaison between our Finance and Data teams. You will be responsible for transforming complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights that directly impact Lime’s strategy and decision‑making.

Lime is at an exciting inflection point as we scale our data capabilities to support critical business growth. As we transition to a more structured, high‑performing organization, we need a full‑stack data scientist who can architect data models, build dashboards, and apply statistical rigor to our financial planning.

The ideal candidate is a generalist who is comfortable writing production‑grade, auditable dbt code one day, building a complex forecast model in Python the next, and presenting a variance analysis to Finance leadership the day after. You will treat management reporting as a product, ensuring it is automated, accurate, and audit‑ready.

This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates residing in Canada to maintain effective collaboration across teams.

What you’ll do:
  • Serve as the primary technical partner to Finance, translating vague business questions into concrete quantitative analyses and automated reporting products.
  • Own the data lifecycle from raw ingestion to visualization; architecting clean, documented dbt models that replace manual ad hoc queries.
  • Apply statistical techniques to explain variances in performance and improve the accuracy of forecast models.
  • Conduct deep‑dive analyses on trends, business performance, and key drivers impacting Lime’s bottom line.
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and documentation to support reliable reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance workflows.
About you:
  • 5+ years of experience in a full‑stack data science role.
  • Expert reader and writer of SQL code, with a relentless focus on precision, logic validation, and troubleshooting data discrepancies to ensure absolute reporting accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis, forecasting, or automating data workflows beyond the capabilities of SQL.
  • Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Experience analyzing financial data (P&L, unit economics, etc.) and working closely with Finance teams to support FP&A functions.
  • Exceptional ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive and senior leadership decision‑making.
  • Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of collaborating cross‑functionally with engineers, analysts, and Finance stakeholders to drive data initiatives forward.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in B2C, marketplace, or high‑volume transaction business models.
  • Familiarity with dbt and modern data transformation best practices.

The salary range listed reflects what Lime reasonably expects to offer for this role, with the final base salary determined by factors such as the candidate’s location and relevant skills and experience. Depending on the position, the total compensation package may also include discretionary annual performance bonus opportunities and equity, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.
