Overview

Senior Corporate Lawyer for mid-sized full service law firm client, Barrie, Ontario.

Job Type : Full-time Permanent.

Compensation : From $150,000 to $175,000 per annum, according to experience, plus comprehensive benefits.

Work Location : Hybrid with 3 days onsite at client's Barrie, Ontario office, and 2 days per week remote. Onsite work expectations subject always to client business requirements, and may change according to client business need.

Responsibilities Summary :

Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and representation in corporate organizations and re-organizations.
  • Act on structured financings, private placements, business acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of general corporate and commercial agreements.
  • Handle complex files independently and collaborate with other lawyers and team members as needed.
  • Engage in client relationship building and business development activities.
  • Additional legal responsibilities as required.

Qualifications :

Qualifications
  • Education : LLB or JD degree from a recognized law school.
  • Professional Credentials : Licensed L1 member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Preferred Work Experience : Minimum 5+ years of progressive corporate and commercial law experience in private practice.
  • Preferred Sector Experience : Private practice law firm experience required.
  • Technical and Language Skills Requirements : Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, including advanced legal writing skills, and polished, professional client presentation.

  • Ability to declare personal Non-Conflict of Interest in execution of assignment responsibilities prior to assignment start.
