SUMMARY :
Lantic is recruiting a Senior Corporate Buyer at our Montreal head office. Reporting to the Corporate Director of Procurement, the Senior Corporate Buyer is responsible for acquiring goods and services necessary for operations and daily production needs at the Montreal refinery. This role involves establishing agreements with strategic partners, participating in projects, process standardization, and cost reduction initiatives, all in compliance with company policies and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Define and implement procurement strategies focused on cost reduction;
- Negotiate with suppliers;
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships;
- Analyze and challenge supplier submissions;
- Research and qualify new sources for procurement;
- Monitor and validate service agreements and contracts;
- Manage purchase requests and orders;
- Prioritize operational requests;
- Support innovation projects and coordinate production tests;
- Assist internal customers in achieving objectives;
- Maintain procurement documentation in accordance with ISO standards;
- Support and replace fellow buyers when necessary;
- Participate in supplier evaluations and procedural improvements;
- Attend departmental meetings and support budget development;
- Monitor non-conformities and budget adherence;
- Perform other related tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- Bachelor's degree in procurement or administration;
- At least 10 years of experience as a buyer in manufacturing;
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and MRP systems;
- Knowledge of the packaging products market is an asset;
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Maximo, and Navision;
- Understanding of ISO, HACCP, and FSSC22000 standards;
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
- Analytical, rigorous, autonomous, and responsible;
- Strong negotiation and communication skills;
- Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written;
- Results-oriented and team player;
- Good stress management skills.
