Job Description

What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Business Analysis Manager, the core parts of your role will be to:

Elicitinformation from various stakeholders, performneeds/requirements analysis, and assistwith the identification of problem statements.

Examineand validatebusiness needs and goals. Capture and assess requirements, process and business problems to propose solutions and recommendations that improve existing business processes and promotes effective and appropriate system solutions.

Leadthe evaluation of current state and future state business processes, performgap analysis and develop/ implementprocess improvement solutions. Documentbusiness requirements including creation of process models, maps, workflows, and diagrams.

Additional activities may include leading/participating in working groups, information sessions, strategic planning, business capability planning, etc.

Developtest plans as required and is responsible for the execution of the test plans in conjunction with business units and the project and/or initiative stakeholders.

Collaboratewith stakeholders to determine project scope, vision, cost benefit analysis, risk factors. Workwith stakeholders to develop detailed solutions, estimates, and project plans in support of the business goals and in compliance with project methodology.

Translateconceptual business requirements into a clear, comprehensible, simplified manner that is comprehensible to all stakeholders.

Followorganizational standards to maintain quality of service and confidentiality.

Developpractices and processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, change management and release management processes. Identify strategic opportunities to add value to the business through improved processes, standards and methodologies.

Manage and trackthe status of requirements and can clearly illustrate the connectivity between business goals/needs, defined requirements, delivered solutions, testing and validation throughout the project lifecycle.

Championand participatein developing and advancing standards related to newer and emerging technologies.

Analyzeand executereporting metrics and provides recommendations/requirements/solutions to improve business intelligence to support management decisions.

Support enterprise roadmaps and planning by providing guidance on business need and impact that contributes to the overall requirements and organizational strategies and goals.

Providetechnical leadership to junior team members and performs other duties within the Business Analyst function, as assigned.

Qualifications

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:

A university degree, college diploma or certification in a related field with advanced knowledge of best practices employed by the IIBA and BABOK.

8+ years of progressive experience in business reporting, business analysis, process design, and testing.

High level of organizational ability with project management experience.

Experience with issue tracking systems, working in agile/scrum environment, web, digital and mobile technology experience is an asset.

Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets and present findings to enable effective business solutions.

Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Excellent presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills required.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Experience with the Microsoft 365 suite of products including SharePoint, Visio, Azure Dev Ops (ADO) is desirable.

Experience working on multiple projects in parallel.

Knowledge of the Educational, Insurance, Financial and/or Call centre Industries is considered an asset.

Proven ability to coach and mentor business solutions and context.

Process related certification/designation or commitment to complete. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S and other Lean disciplines connected with cross functional team leadership of business improvement is required.

Exceptional ability to use innovative and effective methods to analyze data and produce business solutions that meet process requirements.

Demonstrated leadership with the ability to drive the implementation of complex business solutions with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
