OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Application Packaging & Integration Specialist to support application delivery and desktop engineering initiatives within a large enterprise technology environment. This role will be responsible for packaging, integrating, testing, and deploying applications in alignment with documented user requirements, enterprise technical standards, and security best practices.
The successful candidate will work closely with Desktop Engineering, Release Management, Engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure applications are delivered in a reliable, secure, and efficient manner. This position is well-suited for a technically strong, detail-oriented professional who thrives in collaborative, high-output teams and is comfortable balancing both support and development responsibilities.
Location: FCP (Hybrid – 1–2 days per week onsite; Thursday every other week) • Contract Length: 12 Months extension or conversion potential • Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET • Pay Rate: $66-72/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Delivery & Operational Effectiveness
- Package and integrate applications for managed workstations using standardized enterprise tools, processes, and best practices.
- Ensure all application packages meet documented user requirements while adhering to technical, security, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate closely with Desktop Engineering to document application parameters and ensure alignment with business and security requirements.
- Perform thorough application testing in partnership with subject matter experts and end users prior to production deployment.
- Test and verify security controls for new, upgraded, or remediated application packages to maintain an appropriate security posture.
- Support day-to-day operational activities, serving as backfill while other team members support migration and integration initiatives.
Change & Innovation
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, lines of business, Engineering, QA, and Release Management to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain open communication with Engineering and QA teams to confirm technical configurations meet user requirements and enterprise standards.
- Assist Release Management with application rationalization activities, particularly for net-new software requests.
- Provide limited support for additional affiliated environments on the network, including troubleshooting connectivity or application issues as needed.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Advising: Provide guidance to management on appropriate technology solutions to meet client and business needs.
- Coordinating: Participate in cross-functional meetings with Engineering, Release Management, project teams, SMEs, and end users to identify, track, and resolve technical issues throughout the delivery lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Technical Skills
- 4–6 years of relevant professional experience in application packaging and integration.
- Extensive experience with Mainframe COBOL (primary environment), JCL, DB2, and CICS.
- Strong knowledge of .NET and SQL.
- Experience supporting Windows XP and Windows 11 environments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SCCM, Active Directory, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Solid scripting skills to support automation, deployment, and troubleshooting activities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with APIs, JSON, and cloud-based technologies.
- Knowledge of Trade Finance or prior financial-institution experience.
- High-level understanding of firewall rules and networking concepts.
