Senior Accountant

Mission: We are looking for a motivated individual who shares our company values to join our growing finance team in our Vancouver office. The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and is an integral part of our accounting team. You will oversee AR, Credits, and AP, requiring excellent organizational skills and a big-picture mindset. Our ideal candidate enjoys numbers and supports the entire business.

Critical Success Factors:
- Oversee AR / Credits department, ensuring timely cash collections, application, and processing of credits.
- Manage credit applications for new customers and credit for existing customers.
- Analyze customer aging at month-end and provide commentary to Controller.
- Prepare sales reports, rebates, and financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Handle month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Support AP functions and cash planning as needed.
- Prepare GST, PST, QST, and other government remittances.
- Maintain schedules supporting balance sheet accounts.
- Coach junior team members through weekly 1:1s.
- Assist auditors with year-end financial statements and tax returns.
- Optimize accounting processes and adapt to company growth.
- Provide coaching and ongoing feedback to the team.
- Support internal processes like inventory controls and marketing programs.
- Participate in special projects and analysis as directed by management.
- Interact successfully with all levels of staff and external partners.
- Keep files and records organized and up-to-date.
- Stay informed on relevant accounting, tax, and business regulations.

- Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, including AP, AR, and reconciliations.
- Degree in Accounting; CPA is an asset.
