Senior Accountant – Job Description
APEX Mobile Media is based in Toronto and is experiencing strong growth in providing leading mobile and gaming marketing solutions. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to play a critical role in supporting our company's growth, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting both Canadian and UK operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, payroll administration, and general support for day-to-day business operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Oversee month-end processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
- Handle full cycle Accounts Receivable — creating invoices, preparing delivery reports, and monitoring receivable balances to ensure timely collection; resolve customer inquiries on billing in a professional manner.
- Validate and post vendor bills, employee expenses, and customer payments. Review and post corporate credit card transactions with proper documentation.
- Process vendor payments via wire transfers, ACH, and cheques; answer vendor inquiries on payment status.
- Prepare monthly GST / HST and QST returns.
- Maintain payroll for both the Canadian and UK offices, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Support light HR duties, including maintaining employee records, assisting with onboarding, and coordinating employee benefits.
- Assist with general office management tasks as needed. Perform other duties in support of the Finance function as required.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP would be an asset.
- Working toward CPA designation is an asset.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with the full accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, payroll and month-end close.
- Experience with multi-currency transactions.
- Postsecondary education in Accounting.
- Experience with accounting software (NetSuite experience highly preferred) and strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot tables).
