Head office of entrepreneur is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage bookkeeping needs for three businesses with branches in Toronto an New York. Global Incentives Inc, the leading film tax credit administration firm in Canada; Body Blitz Spa, an award-winning women?s only waters therapy spa in Toronto; Blitz Facial Bar, an open concept facial boutique with three locations in Toronto and one location in Brooklyn, New York.Senior Accountant is responsible for anticipating financial needs of the companies, as well as record keeping of all companies (including holding companies). Additional responsibilities include managing of sales tax reporting, federal income tax reporting, outside CPA audits, and human resources. Ideal candidates have exceptional communication skills, are self motivated, and highly organized.Role reports directly to the CEO.Skills and Qualifications* Strong organizational skills* Excellent analytical skills* Strong time management skills* Strong communication skills* An excellent knowledge of finance and accounting* Being adaptable to different working environments and different industries* Well versed in quickbooks, ADP Run, ADP Workforce NowJob Duties:* Documents financial transactions by entering account information.* Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.* Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.* Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.* Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.* Guides part time bookkeeper by coordinating activities and answering questions.* Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.* Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.* HST Filings and NY State Tax Filings* Bank Reconciliation and weekly cash report* Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.* Complies with federal and provincial financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.* Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per yearBenefits:* On-site parkingFlexible language requirement:* French not requiredSchedule:* Monday to Friday* No weekendsExperience:* Accounting: 3 years (required)Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON
