Overview

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Canadian business financial statements as per IFRS and send it to the US Manager for Consolidation.
  • Ensure that all Canadian GL accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the Director of Accounting in preparing responses to IA audit report comments and findings and also follow up about their completion with different teams.
  • Proactively seek continuous enhancement in internal controls over business and financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Assist in reviewing and completing internal controls and assist in preparing and completing process documentation.
  • Assist in preparation of paperwork for corporate income taxes related to Canadian entities.
  • Complete monthly sales tax return filing for Canadian business and do sales tax reconciliation.
  • Assist Director of Accounting in maintaining transfer pricing documentation and other transfer pricing compliance activities.
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Ad-hoc analysis and support as requested by management.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or Accounting or CPA Accounting designation required. Accounting / finance experience required, experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry preferred. Strong understanding of accounting theory and transactions.

Work Environment

Office; limited travel within North America required.
