Purpose:

At ScotiaMcLeod, our Wealth Advisors support high net worth clients in achieving peace of mind by offering trusted advice and personalized total wealth solutions tailored to their short-, medium-, and long-term life goals.

The Wealth Advisor Development Program (WADP) is designed to support business succession planning, expand our advisor community, and ensure our clients continue to receive exceptional guidance and customized solutions.

Held twice a year over three months, the program blends facilitator-led workshops with self-paced learning to foster growth and development.

What you’ll be doing

As a participant in the WADP, you will:

  • Strengthen your confidence in key areas such as communication, professional presence, and client discovery
  • Learn to apply strategic advice and insights to set actionable development goals
  • Cultivate a growth mindset and gain tools to help expand existing businesses and build new client relationships
  • Contribute to the effective and efficient operations of your team, aligned with ScotiaMcLeod’s core values
Do you have the skills

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who bring diverse perspectives and experiences. You’ll thrive in this program if you have:

  • 3–5 years of full-time business experience
  • A passion for client engagement and relationship building
  • Experience in a sales environment and an interest in growing your own book of business
  • A background in finance, sales, or a professional designation (considered an asset)
  • A goal-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French

Required:

  • Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) Courses:
    • Completion of the Canadian Securities Courses (CSC I and II) is required
    • Must be enrolled in Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) by December 31, 2025
  • Upon hire, successful completion of:
    • ScotiaMcLeod RR Dealer Member Training
    • ScotiaMcLeod Wealth Advisor Development Program (WADP)
  • Must be obtained within 12 months of hire date:
    • Insurance License
    • Wealth Management Essentials (WME), provided enrollment by December 31, 2025, OR Retail Securities Exam, launching in 2026
  • All courses and registration requirements must be completed and reported through Registrations no later than December 31, 2026

Asset:

  • Professional designations (Certified Financial Planner, Qualified Associate Financial Planner, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst)

In addition to French, the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English, as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto, as well as constantly interacting with other people, including clients, who speak English, locally and elsewhere.
