Job Description

SOUTHLAND Transportation is seeking dedicated School Bus Monitorsto join our team! School Bus Monitors assist the bus driver during the trip to and from school each day by supervising the activity of, and caring for, children with varying special needs.This may includeloading, securing, and unloading children in wheelchairs.

This position is Monday through Friday; routes fallbetween the hours of 6:00 am – 9:00 am and 2:00pm –5:00 pm.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Patience in dealing with student disruptions
  • Physical ability to load, secure, and unload children in wheelchairs and car seats (training provided)
  • Experience in childcare considered an asset
  • Clear Criminal Record
  • Vulnerable sector check, upon hire (reimbursed by SOUTHLAND)
