Description

We’re seeking a skilled and community-minded HSE Manager to lead municipal and institutional construction projects across the Lower Mainland, with a focus on Burnaby and Richmond. As part of a well-established local general contractor, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality public infrastructure, from schools and recreation centers to civic buildings and community spaces.

What You Will Do

As the HSE Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs across all project sites. You’ll ensure regulatory compliance, promote a culture of safety, and serve as a strategic partner to project teams and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and enforce HSE programs, policies, and corrective actions
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments using Holaco’s tiered system
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations
  • Oversee incident investigations and ensure proper documentation and follow-up
  • Maintain organized safety records and lead Safety Committee meetings
  • Draft and approve project-specific safety plans (PSSPs)
  • Act as the main point of contact for CSO interactions and subcontractor compliance
  • Collaborate with WCB specialists on claims and return-to-work programs
  • Deliver safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and certification programs
  • Support HR with onboarding and mentoring future staff
  • Prepare quarterly HSE performance reports for executives
  • Liaise with clients to meet project-specific safety requirements
  • Promote professionalism and respectful conduct across all interactions
  • Assist with safety breakdowns during tendering stages when required
Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in a Safety Management role
  • 3–5 years of construction industry experience
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations in institutional, commercial, civil, and healthcare sectors

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00 / hr.
