Job description
Overview

Tacten is currently recruiting for Journeyperson IRATA B-Pressure to join our projects team at our CNRL Albian site in Fort McMurray, AB. If you are seeking a dynamic industrial environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.

Position Information
  • Start Date ASAP
  • 6/1 rotation, 12 hour shifts
  • IRATA Level 1 required.
  • Fly-in-fly-out from Alberta hubs (Edmonton or Calgary)
  • Camp provided
  • Perform welding on high-pressure systems using various welding processes such as SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding).
  • Weld components in all positions including flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Ensure welds meet specified standards and pass non-destructive testing methods (e.g., X-ray, ultrasonic testing).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, and assembling them as required.
  • Select and set up welding equipment, ensuring all tools and materials are in proper working condition.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Make necessary adjustments to welding techniques or equipment settings to correct defects.
  • Maintain accurate records of welds and inspections.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Wear appropriate protective gear and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices for high-pressure welding.
Position Requirements
  • Journeyman Welding Certification required
  • ABSA B Pressure Certification an asset
  • IRATA (any level) required
Safety Certifications
  • CSTS/OSSA or OSSA BSO or OSSA CSO required
  • CSE/M (Confined Space and Monitor and Entry) required
  • ESC Fall Protection an asset
