Job summary

A government agency in Ontario is looking for buyers to manage product distribution and maintain stock levels. You will negotiate with suppliers and ensure adequate inventory. Candidates must have a secondary education and good interpersonal skills. Experience is preferred but not mandatory. This position is on-site with no remote work options.

Responsibilities

• Study market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials
• Arrange product according to planogram
• Establish and maintain contact with suppliers
• Maintain adequate stock levels
• Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers
• Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets
• Provide customer service
• Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase
• Select and purchase merchandise for resale
• Supervise work of other buyers
