Found in 1964, Innis College provides an informal home to about 2,200 undergraduate students within the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto. Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean, Administration & Operations, the Residence Steward oversees the operation of the residence front desk and indirectly supervises the Front Desk Porter team. As part of the Innis Residence team in the Office of the Dean of Students, the Residence Steward is holds an important student-facing position and acts as a first-point of contact for Innis College residents and students at the Innis Residence Front Desk. Responsibilities include greeting residents, students, and visitors, transferring telephone calls, processing mail and parcels, monitoring building access, issuing keys and equipment, and other reception duties. Additionally, the Residence Steward is responsible for supporting key residence operations, including scheduling other front desk staff, reviewing key and equipment audits, ordering supplies, responding to email inquiries, and supporting semesterly transitions of fall/winter students and summer guests.
