A leading academic institution is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor in theoretical computer science starting July 1, 2026. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and supervising graduate students. Ideal candidates will hold a Ph.D. and display a strong record of research publications. The position offers a competitive salary range of $117,000 - $144,000, along with an inclusive benefits package.
We invite applications from talented scholars for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in theoretical computer science to commence July 1, 2026. The Department has a strong and active Theory Group, with members doing research in TCS and related areas, including algorithms, complexity, cryptography, and logic. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent field or be within a year of completion, and a demonstrated record of research accomplishment, including publications in top international theory venues (comparable to SODA, FOCS and STOC) as well as a clear plan for developing an outstanding research program. Applicants must have a commitment to teaching theory courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and be able to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level. Evidence of prior teaching experience is preferred. Applicants should provide a plan for graduate student supervision, with prior experience in supervising or mentoring students considered an asset. Applicants must display the required professionalism to operate in a collegial academic environment, with evidence of collaboration considered an asset.
The candidate's qualifications, experience and overall market demand will determine a candidate’s final salary offer. The salary for this position includes a competitive salary range of $117,000 - $144,000 for Assistant Professors.
