Regulatory Compliance Specialist:

How your role will add to the story:

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist’s (RCS) main objective is to ensure our compliance with existing regulations. This includes ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met for quarterly completion rate reporting and field campaigns. They will also support the Field Campaign Specialist by taking on their share of dealer inquiries. Furthermore, this role will become familiarized with safety, emissions, and radiofrequency regulations and take on questions relating to future products/technologies.

The RCS provides second-level support for Product Compliance and guides first-level agents on admissibility for import/export inquiries. The RCS may also at times work with the Customer Relations team to address customer concerns or other duties as assigned by National Manager, Government & Regulatory Affairs (NMG&RA). In the interest of ensuring transparency with government support of Zero-Emission Vehicles, this role will update existing field information on incentives and apply on behalf of our company for new incentives or incentives on new vehicles.

A day in the life:

Regulatory Compliance - Field Campaigns | 50%

  • Report IT issues with key systems and monitor them through to completion: R-CAAID, RVL, Netstar.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly completion rate reports to safety and emissions authorities.
  • Respond to dealer inquiries via OneTrac (shared with Field Campaign Specialist).
  • Support Senior Field Campaign Specialist and Field Campaign Specialist with recall and service campaign overflow, completing all steps of the NCU creation and customer mailing.

Compliance Topics | 35%

  • Address compliance concerns and inquiries internally and from External Affairs and MBRDNA
  • Inform External Affairs on upcoming proposals or regulations to determine the level of impact to our company.
  • Evaluate future product features against Canadian Federal and Provincial regulations when needed, including referenced regulations such as the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations. Provide a final assessment to the requestor.

ZEV Incentives | 10%

  • Maintain list of ZEV incentives and provide as a resource to colleagues.
  • Apply for ZEV incentives (i.e. new models or new programs), ensuring that everything in place to receive approval.
  • Green plate application, where necessary.

Customer Import/Export Assistance | 5%

  • Support first-level agents with any admissibility questions.
  • Continuously review eligibility requirements, modifying as needed to ensure a best customer experience.
  • Provide updates to Marketing/Digital Platforms for the Compliance Assessment webpage as required.
