Job description

RVT, Team Lead - Multiservice

Location: Calgary, AB

Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre, a member of VCA Canada, is currently recruiting for a full-time multiservice Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our always-growing facility. This role will require you to oversee a team of 10+ RVTs and report to the Assistant and General Managers.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling
• Payroll
• Training, mentorship and development
• Ongoing support of team members
• Other responsibilities include: triaging, ICU treatments, starting client appointments, collection and running or submitting of blood samples, radiographs, as well as maintaining timely and accurate patient records

Qualifications for ideal candidate

• Excellent interpersonal skills and be compassionate with the ability to adapt to the needs of the clients within the various services
• Proven leadership skills and the desire to grow
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well within a highly functioning team
• This person will be self-motivated to keep busy when not assigned to a specific department and is expected to work in the ER when required. Anesthesia will be a large portion of the position, along with performing advanced technical skills (i.e. CRIs, epidurals, and mechanical ventilators)
