Registered Practical Nurse – Medical/Inpatient Surgical/Overflow (2026-026) at Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH).

The Opportunity

To support CGMH during the anticipated winter surge, we are seeking RPNs for a temporary extended care role in our Medical, Inpatient Surgical, or Ambulatory Care units. The assignment is expected to continue until March 31, 2026, with possible extensions based on capacity.

Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Coronary Care 1 certification an asset
  • One year of applicable nursing experience preferred
  • Accurate execution of duties with focused attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service demeanor
  • Continuous safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
  • Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act duties
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English (additional languages an asset)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dedication to professional growth and development
  • Ability to perform essential duties that may include physical demands such as moving/transferring patients, pushing, pulling, and bending
  • Excellent attendance and performance record
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills

Duties And Responsibilities

Contribute within the scope of an RPN as a team member in assessment, treatment, provision of care, and health promotion for all patients, following the standards mandated by the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Location: Medical, Inpatient Surgical, and Med/Surg Overflow areas

Employee Group: SEIU

Employment Type: Temporary Part‑Time (approximately 2 months)

Start Date: In line with next Hospital Orientation intake

Hours of Work: 12‑hour shifts including days, nights, and weekends. Availability may be required for weekdays, weekends, and all shifts to support 24/7 operations, up to 48 hours per week (paid).

Wage: $37.604 – $39.020 per hour plus applicable shift premiums for evenings, nights, and weekends.
