Employment Status: Permanent, Part Time (0.6 FTE) (Flex Position)
Program Name: Visiting Nursing
Number of Hours Bi-Weekly: 45
Work Schedule: Days, Evenings, Weekends
Union/Bargaining Unit: NSNU
On-Call: Yes

Portability of seniority as per collective agreement.

Nurses in Flex positions will be scheduled on a monthly basis and will receive their scheduled hours of work (by FTE status) four (4) weeks in advance. Nurses in Flex positions will not be given an individual rotation with regularly scheduled days of work.

What you’ll be doing:

Our RNs provide medical care to children, youth, adults and seniors in their homes and other settings in communities across Nova Scotia.

  • Diabetes management
  • Dialysis
  • IV medications
  • Palliative care
  • Wound care; incl. negative pressure wound therapy and complex wounds
  • ….and much more!

What we need from you:

  • Must be Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
  • Experience in community health an asset
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required and a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or a Child Abuse Registry Check may be required
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
