About The Job

The Registered Nurse:

  • Practices in a perinatal clinical setting and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
  • Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
  • Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.73) opportunity until September 11, 2026, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

About this Location

Penticton Regional Hospital serves a large geographical area stretching from Summerland to Osoyoos and across to Princeton. We have an active Perinatal Committee that works hard to ensure excellent standards of care.

We are a Regional Hospital that delivers 500-600 babies per year. Our unit is comprised of 4 delivery rooms, 7 postpartum beds and 5 female med-surg beds. We are a unit of RN’s and LPN’s with great team spirit. We work closely with all our maternity care providers including Obstetricians, Pediatricians, Family Physicians and Midwives. We are into year 7 of the moreOb program and are currently participating in a National Quality Improvement Collaborative that will ensure Baby Friendly Designation by 2021.
