POSITION: Registered Nurse

DEPARTMENT: Emergency

CONDITIONS: Temporary Full-time for approximately three (3) months

SHIFTS: Days / Nights / Evenings / Weekends

SHIFTS DETAILS: 11.25 hours per shift (subject to change)

WAGE RANGE: Scale Minimum Maximum ONA02 $35.52 / hr $50.85 / hr

Responsibilities
  • Ensures the delivery of professional nursing care by utilizing evidence based nursing practice and by :
  • Establishing, providing, and evaluating clinical nursing care to patients and family
  • Demonstrating critical thinking in the nursing process while collecting and interpreting data, planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of nursing care
  • Practising to the full scope of practice of the Registered Nurse within own level of competence
  • Has the knowledge, skill and judgment needed to provide competent, evidence-based nursing practice that complies with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Standards of Nursing Practice, QCH Policies and Procedures as well as the standards of care appropriate to his / her area of clinical practice.

Requirements
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • RN Diploma
  • Current BCLS
  • 1 year recent experience in an acute care setting
  • Emergency / Critical Care certification in progress
  • ACLS Certification
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand, interpret and carry out verbal and written instructions in the English language
  • Ability to work effectively within the nursing and inter-professional team
  • Demonstrated computer competency
Preferred
  • Recent Emergency Nursing Experience
  • Emergency Nursing CNA certification
  • PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, CTAS and NVCI
  • Experience with clinical documentation in an Electronic Health Record
  • Membership in RNAO, certifications and associations related to nursing specialty
  • Experience as preceptor / mentor
