A municipal recreation organization in North Vancouver seeks a Recreation Programmer II to oversee and evaluate community programs and events. Recreation Programmer II 25023R Regular Full-Time North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. You will be an integral part of our dedicated staff team who continually strive to make a difference in the recreation and cultural lives of North Vancouver residents. You will be involved in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a variety of community-based recreation and social programs and special events; promoting interest and participation in program activities; and supervising staff to ensure effective program operations.
College or University graduation with courses in leisure and recreation, or related subjects, supplemented by some related work experience in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a recreational environment where principles of community development and engagement drive the delivery of leisure and recreation services. A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle for NVRC business.
Employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position. The pay for this unionized position starts at step 1, $36.08 per hour and ranges to $42.45 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefit package. This is a regular full-time position, working 35 hours per week including weekends, days or evenings based on operational needs.
