Overview

The Recreation Programmer works collaboratively with the Recreation Manager and Village of Teslin team to enhance the recreational experience for residents. The position is an important part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering quality recreational programs and events.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of program and event plans, financial budgets and funding applications, and the day-to-day administrative functions of operating a recreation department.
  • Carry out plans and deliver indoor and outdoor programs and events for community members of all ages.
  • Assist with the oversight of facilities, equipment, and bookings.
  • Manage groups and make routine and analytical decisions to support safe and successful programs.
Qualifications
  • Class 5 driver's license (or prepared to obtain)
  • First aid/CPR
  • Food Safe
  • Knowledge of current occupational health and safety regulations
  • A current Vulnerable Sector RCMP check (mandatory)
  • Experience and interest in working with youth
  • Desire to be a positive role model and lead a healthy lifestyle
