Job summary

A leading mental health support organization in Alberta is seeking a Peer Support Worker to provide practical support to individuals with lived experiences of mental health challenges and/or addictions. The role includes advocacy, emotional support, and promoting recovery skills, with required qualifications in peer support and interpersonal communication skills. Training will be provided, and the position is a casual 3-month contract.

Qualifications

  • Experience in peer support or working with individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges.
  • Lived experience of mental health challenges or addiction.
  • Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

  • Offer practical supports to individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges.
  • Assist with daily living needs and promote wellness.
  • Document service delivery logs and time sheets.

Education

Mental Health First Aid and ASIST training
Valid driving license
