Job summary

A leading real estate organization in Halifax is seeking a Real Estate Manager to guide real estate strategies and manage a diverse portfolio including commercial and mixed-use projects. The successful candidate will possess at least 5 years of relevant experience, strong entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to work independently and in teams. A post-secondary education in a related field is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases is essential, with experience in AutoCAD and GIS considered an asset. Reporting to the Director of Real Estate, the Real Estate Manager role is pivotal in advancing the organization’s real estate strategy across retail, industrial, office, and residential projects. This is a dynamic, multi-faceted position suited for a real estate professional with broad experience, strong business acumen, and most importantly an entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, and adaptability. The successful candidate will be empowered to work independently or as part of a team on a variety of assignments, including large-scale master plan communities, commercial leasing, site selection, purchases, sales, and more, depending on organizational needs. We are seeking someone who thrives on solving problems and is self-motivated.

Education and Experience
  • Post‑secondary education in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Business, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • 5+ years preferred of progressive experience in real estate, land development, or related activities, with exposure to mixed‑use and commercial projects
  • Related professional designations are considered an asset.
Other Requirements
  • Position located in Dartmouth, NS
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  • Relatively frequent travel required throughout Atlantic Canada, and occasionally outside the region.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a diverse portfolio of real estate projects, including mixed‑use developments, site selection, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and property management.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of large‑scale master plan communities and integrated developments.
  • Work on commercial leasing activities and tenant relations for retail, office, and industrial assets.
  • Drive site selection and transaction processes, leveraging market analysis and strategic business insights.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners including municipal authorities, consultants, engineers, and legal advisors—to secure approvals and deliver successful projects.
  • Prepare and assess proformas, budgets, schedules, and risk analyses for a variety of real estate initiatives.
  • Monitor market conditions and identify emerging opportunities across Atlantic Canada.
  • Represent the company with professionalism and integrity in all dealings with government agencies, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Take on new and varied assignments as organizational needs evolve, demonstrating curiosity, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
